There is something excitingly different about staying with friends in a bunkhouse. Each one is unique, created out of an intriguing building and situated in an interesting location. A bunkhouse offers informal reasonably priced accommodation that can be used as a base for families and groups to participate in outdoor activities.
The emphasis is on provision of basic but warm and comfortable accommodation boasting superior showering, washing, drying and equipment storage facilities than is available at hotels, guesthouses or self-catering holiday cottages, and at significantly less cost.

Map Out your Stay at Canal Barn Bunkhouse!Bothies, bunkhouses and hostels of differing styles and sizes have been in existence for many years providing simple accommodation for adventure-seeking individuals and groups. Originally bunkhouses aimed to attract hikers following long distance walkways stopping for a one-night stay on route, but an unexpected market began to evolve. Experience soon showed that the bunkhouses were popular with groups that wanted to stay for 2 or 3 nights or more, using the bunkhouse as a base from which to undertake the outdoor activities. They required the freedom to determine their own programme and routine, rather than having to conform to the rules of a backpacker or youth hostel. Over the years bunkhouses have evolved to fulfil this requirement and have become the ideal venue from which to pursue outdoor activities. |
