Caving The Brecon Beacons National Park encompasses some of the most important caving systems in Europe. Caving can be dangerous and much of these cave systems are only accessible accompanied by an experienced guide with local knowledge. However a number of local activity providers have the necessary experience and offer courses for both the beginner and more experienced caver. Otherwise the safest opportunity for visitors to get a taste of a cave system is at Dan-yr-Ogof Caves in Abercraf. This is an extensive cave system that is open to the public and has some major caves including the spectacular ‘Cathedral Cavern’.
