Cycling in Brecon Beacons, Wales Cycling
Family and occasional cyclists can tour the National Park or follow the Taff Trail, straight from the Bunkhouse, along a myriad of quiet country lanes and tracks that do not require any special riding skills. We keep a set of route guides to 5 cycle routes in the area that all start on the Canal Towpath right outside the Bunkhouse. They vary in difficulty from easy family riding along the canalside to a 52 mile tour of the mountains and valleys of the Black Mountains. Or use our library of Guide Books and O/S Maps of the area to plan new, different and more adventurous routes of your own to follow. There really is something for everybody.
In addition the Canal towpath is a dedicated cycle path forming part of Lon Las Cymru ('the Greenways of Wales'), the across Wales Section of National Cycle Network, Sustrans route 8, making Canal Barn Bunkhouse an ideal stop over for groups following one of the longest and most scenic cycle routes in the UK.
