Activity based learning improves group communication and problem solving skills, and trainers have found that using a bunkhouse as the base for a team building course is particularly successful as the nature of the accommodation demands a team approach. Bunkhouse accommodation engenders co-operation and team working, creating a very focused team building course well away from the distractions encountered in other types of accommodation such as hotels. Canal Barn Bunkhouse with its classroom/training area and central location, giving easy access to the numerous outdoor activities available in the Brecon Beacons, is an ideal venue for team building courses.
We have our own large garden area for outdoor practical exercises, or for those that require that additional bit of extra space we also have free use of the adjacent Brecon Rugby Club playing fields (3 rugby pitches in extent).
For groups that require a large indoor training area for their team building course there is a superb Meeting Hall nearby, less than 50 metres from the Bunkhouse, that can be hired by groups staying at the Bunkhouse. The hall has its own kitchen with a relaxation or breakout area and toilets, as well as the main hall of some 144 sq. metres incorporating full under floor heating. Let us know if you require use of the Meeting Hall and we will arrange for its hire, currently at a very reasonable additional fee of £10 per hour.
Many groups and companies bring their own instructors, but for those without their own training instructors we have contacts with a number of local outdoor activity providers that have wide experience in oganising team building activities, and/or running team building courses.
