Training Courses
Canal Barn Bunkhouse is an ideal venue for training courses. With its central location, giving easy access to the wonderful scenery and numerous outdoor activities available in the Brecon Beacons, the Bunkhouse can be used simply as an accommodation base for training courses that take you into the great outdoors, including team building,
Duke of Edinburgh Award,
canoeing, climbing, caving, navigation, painting, and photography.
The Bunkhouse common room readily converts to a dedicated training room that works well for ‘in house’ training, such as management/employee development training, arts and crafts courses, religious studies or retreats, or first aid courses. Trainers have found that using a bunkhouse creates a very focused course, as there are no distractions from the hotel lobby or bar and there are no televisions in the bedrooms to distract from the purpose of being on the training course.
We have our own large garden area for outdoor practical exercises, or for those that require that additional bit of extra space we also have free use of the adjacent Brecon Rugby Club playing fields (3 rugby pitches in extent).
For groups that require a large indoor training area for their training course there is a superb Meeting Hall nearby, less than 50 metres from the Bunkhouse, that can be hired by groups staying at the Bunkhouse. The hall has its own kitchen with a relaxation or breakout area and toilets, as well as the main hall of some 144 sq. metres incorporating full under floor heating. Let us know if you require use of the Meeting Hall and we will arrange for its hire, currently at a very reasonable additional fee of £10 per hour.
