It starts with a gentle walk along the canal towpath beside fields following the line of the river Usk to the lock at Brynich. From here an aqueduct carries the canal over the river and winds through tree lined fields towards the village of Llanfrynach a little away from the canal. The walk continues along quiet lanes to the village of Pencelli, which is the halfway point, before returning along the canal back to the Bunkhouse. While in Pencelli take the opportunity to visit the 13th century Llanfeugan Church situated above the village. |
